airBaltic Acquires IATA’s Airline Retailing Maturity Status

At the end of December, the Latvian national airline airBaltic has been granted the Airline Retailing Maturity (ARM) status under the ARM Index Program of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This certification recognizes that airBaltic uses Shop/Order/Pay/Setup capabilities which are compliant with the standard Enhanced and Simplified Distribution message schema, version 17.2 and the ARM Index Capabilities Verification Guidance.

Eva Plakane, Senior Vice President Revenue Management at airBaltic: “Receiving this certification is a proud moment for airBaltic, as we have joined the community of already 62 airlines which have attained the ARM status. It means that our flight offers comply within the standards of the industry and are available for travel retailers in order to make direct ordering. We have been purposefully working towards this direction, and thus – we are delighted to become a part of the industry standard setters, maintainers and improvers.”

The ARM Index is the only industry index program in support of the Enhanced and Simplified Distribution standards. It involves airlines, sellers and system providers, supporting them with better visibility of their own and other organizations’ retailing maturity across the industry.
