Architect and interior designer Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, has opened a new 3,900-sq.-ft. showroom at 29 West 30th St., Sixth Floor, to showcase her Rottet Collection of furniture. The new design environment gives expression to Rottet’s deft hand, whether in a residential, commercial or hospitality setting. The furnishings are arranged in welcoming vignettes, decorated with Rottet’s complementary accessories styled with plantings, organic forms and contemporary art. Each piece is a thoughtful expression of art and function inspired by the Light and Space movement and Rottet’s art and architecture background.
Light, reflection and visual engagement are key components in the showroom. From the Walking Bench, with its angled legs to the colorful and translucent Dichroic Table and Ovo Mirrors, the room is aglow. Rottet “Powerful” Tables and Cabinets are sleek, versatile and provide hidden access to electrical outlets. Rottet Collection pieces are akin to functional art, bringing energy, reflection and flexibility to any room.
The blurring of indoor and outdoor is also on view with an organically inspired collection of marble and basalt offerings, including angled tables, planters, a fire pit and fountain. Rottet’s custom line of hide on hair rugs for Kyle Bunting and her Fascio Collection of lighting for Visual Comfort & Co. are showcased as well.
“In a world of throwaway, Rottet Collection is produced with the finest materials and workmanship, designed to endure and be passed down from generation to generation. It elevates furniture, as a ‘collectible’ artful object in the room,” said Rottet. “We are excited to introduce our New York showroom to the market.”
