Bangkok Airport sees long queues of tourists seeking visa on arrival

In case you are headed to Thailand for a vacation, it is better to get visas from the embassy or consulate to avoid long queues.

The East Asian nation is witnessing an influx of tourists after removing Covid-19 restrictions, and opening borders to tourists.

Bangkok Airport has been witnessing long queues of travellers, who have to wait for hours to get on-arrival visas.

Thailand’s Ambassador to India Pattarat Hongtong on Sunday advised Indian tourists to get visas from the embassy or consulate in order to avoid long queues at the Bangkok airport for immigration clearance.

Thai authorities are being flooded with complaints from hapless tourists on social media.

The Thai Ambassador told news agency that it is quite natural for any airport, not only Thailand. When they opened the borders, nobody can expect the actual number of incoming visitors or tourists.

So they advise Indians to get visa from embassy or consulate before travelling to Thailand that can be helpful to things.

She stressed that the airport is taking steps such as increasing staff, among other measures, to provide the best services to international tourists.

They have tried to improve by increasing the people who work at the airport to facilitate the tourists, Pattarat told a news agency.

Thailand received over 3.78 million tourists between January and August this year, and most of these were from India, Malaysia and Singapore. The Thai economy is heavily dependent on tourists.

The Ambassador attributed long queues mainly to tourists seeking visas on arrival.
