THAI Expands Fleet to Serve Higher Travel Demand and Revenue Goals in the Rehabilitation Plan

 

On Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 October 2022, Somdej Phra Maha Ratchamongkol Muni, Assistant Abbot, Wat Traimit Withayaram, anointed Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI)’s  royal bestowed name Alongkorn and Simongkhon Boeing 777-300ERs in THAI Technical Department Hangar, Suvarnabhumi Airport. Mr. Siri Jirapongphan, THAI Plan Administrator and Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron, THAI Plan Administrator, THAI executives, and honorable guests witnessed the anointment. THAI is also holding another anointment ceremony for royal bestowed Theparat Boeing 777-300ERs on 26 October 2022.

In addition to the existing 14 Boeing 777-300ERs, environmental friendly long range aircraft with modern technology, THAI enhances its fleet competency with the new cabin interior and seat allocation by increasing the aforementioned three 777-300ERs which will be utilized in London, Tokyo (Narita), and Osaka routes. 

Boeing 777-300ER is a wide-bodied aircraft with spacious cabin, equipped with state-of-the-art technology which received extended-range twin-engine operations (ETOPS) Certificate.  The aircraft is fuel efficient and has been designed to be environmentally friendly products to help reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution. 

The aircraft can accommodate a total of 303 passengers.  There are eight seats in Royal First Class; 40 flat bed seats in Royal Silk Class; and 255 seats in Economy Class with the latest selection of inflight entertainment: full HD Panasonic EX3 screen, USB port, KU Band inflight Wi-Fi.

In addition, THAI will resume the operations of three A330-300s, with flat bed Royal Silk seats, in Fukuoka and Tokyo (Haneda) routes from late this October as well as two 777-200ERs in Mumbai, Jakarta, and Denpasar routes. In the first quarter of this year, four 777-200ERs operated flights in Indian routes serving higher travel demand in the first nine months of 2022. In the first ten days of this October, THAI Cabin Factor was 80 percent while the daily average passenger was 17,554; comparing to 2,092 in January, which is expected to increase in Q4/2022 and Q1/2023 as a result of the international border reopening in Q2/2022. THAI strives to fulfill passenger satisfaction in order to achieve revenue goals in the rehabilitation plan.
