Holland America Line removes need for pre-cruise Covid testing

Holland America Line is further simplifying Covid-19 protocols for passengers to travel.

The line is removing the requirement for passengers on “most voyages” to take a pre-cruise test regardless of their vaccination status.

The change means that unvaccinated travellers will be able to cruise without the need for a test within three days of sailing.

Checks of individual passenger vaccination status will be also discontinued as well unless required by destinations.

The simpler protocols now also include Panama Canal transits of up to 15 nights in duration.

The line continues to run ‘enhanced protocol’ cruises where passengers will be provided additional information about protocols based on ports visited.

Passengers can submit their booking number on the company’s website to see specific protocols for their cruise.

They can continue to submit documents electronically or use the VeriFLY app ahead of embarkation for faster check-in.

HAL president Gus Antorcha said that their guests continue to show their excitement to return to cruising, and this is another step toward making it as easy as possible for them to safely explore the world in a way they love.
