Phoenix Sheraton updates meeting space

Sheraton Phoenix Downtown has completed a comprehensive $4-million renovation of its meeting and event spaces in addition to debuting a new Sheraton Club. Business and leisure groups will enjoy enhanced spaces, featuring modern finishes, lounge-style pre-function seating and curated artwork for a fresh take on meetings and events in the center of downtown and just steps from the Phoenix Convention Center.

“We’re excited to further elevate our existing meeting and events offerings with the completion of this renovation as the final phase of Sheraton Phoenix Downtown’s transformation,” said General Manager Richard Romane. “As the brand’s flagship hotel, we look forward to offering the ideal venue for a variety of occasions from corporate groups to modern weddings and beyond.”

A contemporary destination located in the heart of downtown Phoenix and one of the city’s premier convention hotels, Sheraton Phoenix Downtown has 1,003 guestrooms and suites paired with 110,000 sq. ft. of versatile event space featuring the latest audiovisual technology, as well as an award-winning, on-site planning team and diverse food and beverage offerings.

The meeting and event space renovation includes new acoustic boards and lighting, fresh carpets, wallcoverings, new furniture and curated artwork across the second and third-floor meeting spaces including pre-function, Grand Ballroom, Junior Ballroom and all meeting rooms.

Designed by Dallas-based Looney & Associates, the refreshed spaces focus on the juxtaposition of a glimmering desert scene with the vibrant city life of Phoenix, taking cues from the urban heritage and natural beauty alike, expressed through rhythmic patterns, tactile textures, and rich, desert earth tones. This can be seen in the alternation between modern neutral tones and powerful gold statements in the decor and the broad stroke color and abstract form in the carpet. The rippling textures, warm hues and motifs of the Southwestern desertscape are felt throughout the artwork selected for this property. The artwork comes from artists with unique processes that enhance the design and shine a light on the local culture in an abstract way, such as burning and rusting and hand weaving on a loom.

Located just off the lobby on the first floor, the new Sheraton Club is an inviting and exclusive space for Marriott Platinum Members and guests who purchase Sheraton Club access. Designed with a purpose for a layered and engaging experience, Sheraton Club transitions seamlessly with activations throughout the day. Guests can enjoy elevated food and beverage offerings, enhanced connectivity and amenities including Starbucks coffee, a water filling station, sweet and savory snacks, fresh pastries in the mornings, a dessert bar in the evenings, lockers to store luggage and laptops and more.

The meeting space enhancements and debut of Sheraton Club are the final phase of Sheraton Phoenix Downtown’s extensive top-to-bottom renovation as part of Sheraton’s worldwide transformation of its guest experience. The hotel embodies the vision of the reinvented Sheraton brand experience with community-fluid spaces that feel warm and inviting for both locals and visitors. Sheraton Phoenix Downtown was one of the first to display Sheraton’s new signature key elements including revamped guestrooms, a 19,000-sq.-ft. social lobby lounge, & More by Sheraton and Sheraton Fitness Center that debuted in April 2021. The hotel’s new signature restaurant Carcara opened in March offering a locally sourced menu influenced by the rich traditions of the Southwest, including Native American and Sonoran-inspired dishes and hand-crafted cocktails.
