Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is excited to announce the next instalment of THE LUME Melbourne experience, with Monet & Friends Alive launching in October 2022, following the huge success of Van Gogh.
Permanently housed at MCEC, THE LUME Melbourne is an epic adventure into art. Monet & Friends Alive showcases the life and vibrant works of artists including Monet, Cézanne, Renoir, Manet, and more in a fully immersive sensory encounter.
Unique, revealing, and inspiring, Monet & Friends Alive journeys through the most influential and fascinating period in modern art – Impressionism. Set against the adventurous and bohemian backdrop of 19th-century Paris, curated tastes, aromas, and a synchronised soundtrack including Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and Offenbach.
MCEC’s award-winning chefs have curated a unique menu exclusively for THE LUME Melbourne. Paying homage to 19th-century Paris, the menu reflects classic French café culture. Small bites, light meals, share plates, children’s dishes, and indulgent desserts using the freshest Victorian produce paired with an extensive Australian and French wine list.
Become a part of one of Monet’s famous paintings, by stepping into a life-size recreation of a Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies (1899) and harness your inner artist in The Studio and learning to recreate Impressionist masterpieces.
Chief Executive Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Peter King said he is confident The LUME will continue to be a success in Melbourne’s entertainment scene.
This partnership is such an exciting opportunity, and they have already seen over 600,000 to The LUME Melbourne since its opening. With more than 3,000 square metres of gallery space, four storeys tall they are proud to house this state-of-the-art attraction under one roof. Melbourne has shown they love THE LUME Melbourne, and welcoming Monet & Friends Alive is another way MCEC is using our space in unconventional ways, to ensure we keep innovating, evolving and making an impact where it counts.
Bruce Peterson, Founder of Grande Experiences, the creator, and producer of THE LUME Melbourne said that they felt that Monet & Friends Alive was going to be the perfect follow-up to give people a very different experience to Van Gogh Alive, but still a familiarity of all great things that they found inspirational when they first came to THE LUME Melbourne.
THE LUME Melbourne is available to book for corporate events, treating guests to a 45-minute feature show plus three local digital artist featurettes woven around the event running order. THE LUME Melbourne events are exclusively managed and catered by the experienced MCEC team who will work closely with customers to ensure the event is extraordinary.
