Pre-Embarkation Covid-19 test dropped by Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean Group has decided to drop pre-embarkation Covid-19 testing for vaccinated guests. However, guests staying on board for five days or less are only spared the test. This will begin in early August. Although, this will be only passed if the local authorities have approved if the local authorities approve.

A formal announcement is on the way. Jason Liberty, president and CEO revealed the news. The company’s second quarter of business will be affected by the decision.

However, the company will still test unvaccinated guests. However, for the time being, the testing will be imposed just until the virus spread possibilities are there. The company wishes to drop the testing entirely in the future.

Earlier, Azamara, Virgin Voyages and Margaretville at Sea have repelled the testing requirement. However, the Cruise officials have stated that the final decision will be impacted by the local area requirements. The Cruise officials said any cruise guests departing before then must adhere to the current protocols in place, which differ depending on the place of departing.

The Royal Caribbean Group is a cruise holding company that operates from Miami, Florida. The operator functions with Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity cruise and Silversea Cruises. The company also has 50% ownership of TUI cruises.

Since last year mandatory testing has started to depart from many cruises. The management has been considerate about the vaccinated tourists. However, with many new waves of virus attacks, many have kept the testing mandatory.
