Handel Festival

Halle is the birthplace of music composer Georg Friedrich Handel. This festival pays tribute to the German composer by hosting the annual Handel Festival. Here you can come and experience the performances of international musicians, that interpret Handel’s works, from his early chamber music and Italian cantatas to the Messiah.
This is the largest and oldest music festival in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, with around 58,000 visitors a year before the pandemic, offers a program consisting of two program pillars: In total, all 9 concert, opera and oratorio programs, including the ceremonial lecture and festive service of 1922, will be adapted for the 2022 Handel Festival, and internationally famous Handel Prize winners will lend the festival a special glamour in a wide variety of events.
Saga Dawa Festival

Saga Dawa Festival is a religious Buddhist festival honouring the life of Lord Gautama Buddha. According to the Buddhist tradition, when Buddha was dying, he instructed one of his followers not to honor him merely with flowers, incense and lights after he died but by striving to follow his teachings about living a noble life and being kind and compassionate.
Along with remembering Lord Buddha and his teachings, the main point of the festival is to pray to God. It is said by many that the goal of the Saga Dawa Festival is to pray for the long life of all the holy gurus of all traditions, for the survival and spreading of Buddha’s teachings in the minds of all sentient beings, and for world peace.
