Honoring the outdoors

The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch will undergo the final stage of the property’s transformation and resort renovations with an extensive refurbishment of the guestrooms and suites, Club Lounge and an enhancement of guest experiences to be unveiled in July. As the summer season (Colorado’s best-kept secret) arrives, The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch invites guests to be the first to experience the design overhaul that embodies the pioneering spirit of the American West.

For two decades The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch has remained at the forefront of mountain luxury with best-in-class outdoor experiences, a celebrated collection of unique dining experiences and signature Ritz-Carlton hospitality. The final renovations present a new look that will cement its status as the top luxury mountain getaway. The transformation of the property began in early 2020 with multiple dining experiences including the opening of Sakaba, a premier sushi restaurant rooted in Japanese tradition, enhanced outdoor terraces at Fireside Bar, which has redefined the après-ski experience, along with the additions of the WYLD Terrace Bar and the Buffalos Terrace Bar.

The final phase of refurbishments will include elevated room and suite interiors, evoking a natural feel that will complement the resort’s surroundings. The Club Lounge and The Great Room will follow suit with a refreshed luxe overhaul that incorporates organic textures and earthy tones, in addition to its mountain modern design.

“We are thrilled to bring an elevated guest experience and officially unveil the capstone of our multi-year transformation this summer,” said Daniel Dickhart, general manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. “The project will invite guests to live on the edge of the wild, with our mesmerizing mountain-side landscape, as they enjoy the beauty of nature from the comforts of their refurbished rooms and elevated public spaces. This new chapter will encompass an exciting new adventure for our guests as they embark on a journey to experience the wonders of our premier location all year-round.”

A new era of mountainside luxury

Under the creative eye of Simon Hamui, the resort’s guestroom and public spaces renovation will elevate the definition of mountainside luxury.

“We sought to create spaces that encouraged social gatherings while integrating historical elements into the design to connect to the region’s history and nature,” said Hamui, director, business development, Simon Hamui Design Studio. “The premise is to create a warm and contemporary stylish setting that would contrast with the raw handmade log framework of the existing building.”

The final refurbishments will debut enhanced room and suite interiors with soothing tones and elements that highlight the resort’s luxury mountainside experience. Natural wood and stone textures used throughout the design will bring the organic elements of the mountains indoors. Guests can enjoy newly designed guest rooms and suites with comfortable furnishings, upgraded appliances, marble bathrooms and expansive views of Beaver Creek Mountain or Vail Valley.

Along with the aesthetic upgrades, The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch will reinvigorate culinary and guest experiences with the addition of The Edge of Wild Private Dining, Earth to Table outdoor dinners, curated live music and a new Ritz Kids location, that will set the scene for a summer of indulgence in the great outdoors.
