An original, educational theme park, dedicated to the heroes and the most important moments of the Greek Revolution, was inaugurated in the remote town of Sidirokastro, Serres, greekcitytimes.com reports.
The park extends to a green olive grove, next to the church of Agia Paraskevi, where with stands and three-dimensional representations, moments, and protagonists of the National Uprising are projected.“Our goal is to reflect on the importance and significance of the Greek Revolution and the people, who, imbued with the ideals of patriotism and self-denial, gave us the precious good of freedom,” said Father Pavlos Papadopoulos, priest of Agia Paraskevi.
As part of the events, a competition was held – a painting exhibition, with the theme of “1821,” in which over 150 students of the city’s primary schools participated.
At the same time, a board game competition was organized on the theme of the “Revolution of 1821”, from the popular series by the Desylla Company SA, which also sponsored the event.
