Report: Abu Dhabi fund's Sydney hotels may yield $500M

The sovereign wealth fund Abu Dhabi Investment Authority could reap about $500 million from the planned sale of two Sydney, Australia, hotels, sources say. Sale of the Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour and IBIS Sydney Darling Harbour would complete ADIA's divestment of a 31-hotel portfolio acquired in 2013.
The Rosewood San Francisco hotel will occupy 15 floors of a 61-story building scheduled to open in 2026 in the city's Transbay district. Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will manage the 180-room hotel for developers F4 Transbay Partners.

The survival of Crown Resorts is in serious doubt due to a spate of money-laundering investigations and the likelihood of civil action carrying heavy penalties, aggravated by the coronavirus, the Australian casino operator's auditor says. "A material uncertainty exists that may cast significant doubt on the Group's ability to continue as a going concern," the auditor's report warns.

Support for vaccine mandates for hotel guests among Americans rose from 44% in April to 53% in August according to a Gallup poll that shows majority backing for the measure across the range of travel and large events. Vaccinated respondents favored requirements far more than the unvaccinated, as did Democrats compared to Republicans.
