According to the Greek Aviation Authority (CAA), passengers travelling from mainland Greece to the islands have to present vaccination proof, a recovery certificate or a negative test in order to board a plane.
Furthermore, PCR tests must be taken within 72 hours of departure whereas rapid tests are valid if it was taken 48 hours before reaching the respective island, as per Schengen authorities.
Moreover, travellers aged 12 to 17 years old who want to board a flight from and to islands have to present a rapid test taken in the last 24 hours. According to the air directive, third-country nationals arriving from the countries like the U.S., the U.K., UAE, Australia, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Russia and Saudi Arabia, among others are the only third-country nationals permitted to enter the country for non-essential purposes.
