A Cunard Voyage from Barcelona to Singapore

Savour the elegance and timeless traditions of a Cunard cruise as you pass through the Mediterranean Sea and on to Asia, culminating with a hotel stay in Singapore.

Your holiday begins with a one-night hotel stay in vibrant Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia and Spain’s second city. This incredible city is a creative destination famous for its striking Gothic Quarter and rich artistic heritage. Explore its architectural marvels by Antoni Gaudi, sample delicious dishes of authentic tapas and lose yourself in the bustling cultural hub of La Rambla – peppered with eateries, stalls and street performers.

Following your stay, you’ll then embark on Cunard’s regal Queen Elizabeth and discover a ship that bears all the hallmarks of nautical luxury and refinement. As you head through the Mediterranean Sea to the Greek Islands, you’ll get to savour the array of amenities, superb cuisine and glamorous evening entertainment synonymous with Cunard. Take a traditional afternoon tea served by white-gloved waiters, settle into pampering bliss at the Mareel Spa and glam up for one of the famous gala balls.

You’ll first stop at Heraklion on the island of Crete, a place bursting with idyllic golden beaches, soaring inland mountains and ancient history. You can learn about the latter at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, home to fascinating artefacts from the Minoan period. You’ll also be within easy reach of lively Malia and the pretty coastal town of Agios Nikolaos with its lagoon.

Leaving the Mediterranean Sea, you’ll then begin your sailing through Egypt’s famous Suez Canal, taking in the views along the way of mosques, golden desert sands and the many bridges that span this vital passage of water. Having reached the Red Sea at the other end, you’ll stop at Safaga.

Visit the beach at nearby Sharm El Naga for great snorkelling, or take a trip inland to the Luxor, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world and home to the Valley of the Kings and other national archaeological treasures.

Reaching the southern coast of Oman, you’ll alight for the day at the port of Salalah. Unlike much of the region, Salalah is a noticeable green and fertile place where fruit - from figs to bananas - is grown in abundance. You could also go beyond the city to the Tomb of Job, as well as the Al Mughsayl blow holes.

At Sri Lanka’s wonderful capital, Colombo, you’ll find that life is drawn to the shores of Beira Lake, connected to the city via numerous canals. Wander the streets to find colonial architecture built by the Portuguese and British, as well as glinting statues of gold Buddhas that gaze serenely over the water.

Finally, you’ll disembark in Singapore where you’ll enjoy a one-night hotel stay. Discover the beautifully lit SuperTrees of Gardens by the Bay and sip a Singapore Sling in the famous Raffles Hotel. You could also spend a few hours at the vast Marina Bay Sands resort, an exhilarating entertainment complex whose three main towers lie beneath the incredible Skypark, home to the world’s highest infinity pool. The views from the top are sensational.
