60% of US adults likely to go away on vacation this summer

With summer just around the corner, are families planning their vacations with the pandemic still going on? ENGINE Insights conducted a survey to find out, and uncovered 60% of US adults are likely to go away on vacation this summer, and 35% think now is a good time to research or book travels.

Of those that are likely to take a vacation, their top 3 reasons include:

  • 43% - Just needing to ‘get away’ after being stuck at home for so long
  • 34% - Being more comfortable with it after a year of living with safety measures such as social distancing and wearing a mask
  • 31% - Having received the vaccine for COVID-19/ expecting to receive it by the summer

Alternatively, those unlikely to go away this summer state the following reasons:

  • 38% - Just not being comfortable with it yet, despite a year of living with safety measures such as social distancing and wearing a mask
  • 38% - Financial situation being the same or worse than it was compared to last year
  • 35% - Still planning to stay at home until coronavirus cases have dramatically decreased
