Royal Caribbean International recently made it official that they have sold the Empress and Majesty of the Seas from its fleet later this month. They announced this is a recent press release. These ships are the oldest in the fleet, but now the company has decided to sell the ships to a party based in Asia-Pacific.
Empress and Majesty of the Seas brought in remarkable changes in the respective industry, that continued to offer excellent services to people for several decades according to Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.
Biding adieu to these ships was not easy, however, the company planned to part with the set up and in their word difficult but necessary. They have new plans for innovations and are coming up with new ships to join the fleet in the coming weeks. They expect that the guests will continue enjoying the ride and create memories with the new services.
According to Royal Caribbean, the Empress was the first ship that was specifically designed for three- and four-night cruises ever since she was launched in 1990, with her initial sailings visiting The Bahamas from Miami. Empress also made history as the first cruise ship to sail out of Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey when Royal Caribbean opened the terminal in 2004. In 2017, the ship took centre stage again when she set sail on the line’s inaugural cruise to Cuba.
The Majesty too played a key role in Royal Caribbean’s commitment to continuously redefine the industry.
