A cookie to please every palate
Neapolitan ice cream is a favorite because it offers a range of flavor to satisfy different tastes, and the same approach can be applied to holiday cookies. Sarah Kieffer's book, "100 Cookies," includes a version inspired by pastry chef Mathew Rice's combination of cookie doughs flavored with vanilla extract, cocoa powder and freeze-dried strawberries, and other bakers are creating their own takes on the Neapolitan cookie using ingredients ranging from crushed pistachios to matcha.

The assumption that millennials prefer hard seltzer and trendy beverages to wine is incorrect, writes Julia Coney, who argues that much of the disconnect stems from the industry's failure to recognize the younger generation's reliance on the Vivino app and social media outlets like Snapchat and TikTok rather than points and tasting notes. "Millennials indicate to me that hard seltzer and wine can coexist; why should they have to choose?" Coney writes.
