BOSTON, MA – MarketPlace Logan, an affiliate of Boston-based New England Development and manager of the Boston Logan Concessions’ Program (BOS SHOP DINE), announced that XpresSpa Group’s new XpresCheck COVID-19 testing facility will open and be fully operational by mid-November at Boston Logan International Airport.
XpresCheck COVID-19 testing facility at Boston Logan is a modular constructed facility within the International Arrival area in Terminal E (pre-security), and is expected to host seven separate testing rooms with an anticipated ability to administer over 400 tests per day for passengers arriving and departing the airport within all terminals, as well as airport employees. There are three COVID-19 testing options offered including a rapid molecular COVID-19 test, the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test, and the Blood Antibody Test.
“We continue to explore new ways to expand on preventative measures and new technology that we have implemented to ensure the health and safety of our passengers and employees. The COVID-19 testing site in Terminal E is another example of that commitment. We strongly believe that the quick and easily accessible testing site will provide travelers a further sense of security as they travel through Boston Logan,” said Paul McGinn, President of MarketPlace Development.
Airport employees and travelers alike can visit the XpresCheck via walk-in appointments or by scheduling in advance. XpresCheck also accepts insurance for the individual PCR and Blood Antibody Test. The entire testing process which involves introductions, administering the test, and the clinical visit takes up to approximately 20 minutes and results are provided onsite if having the rapid molecular COVID-19 test or shared via XpresCheck’s secure patient portal.
“We are eager to launch XpresCheck at Boston Logan International Airport, which is our third COVID-19 testing facility in the country. We believe that our presence at Boston Logan enables us to play an important role in supporting the return of domestic and international air travel to pre-pandemic levels by making sure both airport employees and travelers feel safe and confident when they come to the airport,” said, Doug Satzman, CEO of XpresSpa.
