Outrigger has launched Outrigger Stories, an online collection of inspirations and good deeds carried out by Outrigger hosts at a time when we have to #shelterathome and #traveltomorrow. Stories include videos of jaw-dropping destinations we can visit again one day, cocktail recipes, cleaning up in Koh Samui, a foundation to help out-of-work musicians struggling in a time of C19, and much more.

#OutriggerCARES: This Storm Will Pass

Message from Outrigger CEO, Jeff Wagoner As we navigate through this unprecedented time, our energy is focused in two connected spheres: giving back and looking forward. GIVING BACK We recently launched #OutriggerCARES as a global platform to provide support for our internal team as well as offer resources and aid to the communities in which the brand operates. Localized care ranges from housing healthcare heroes in Hawaii to delivering meals in Mauritius and donating personal protective equipment to a hospital in Phuket. LOOKING FORWARD The wellbeing of our guests and hosts is a top priority, so we’re using this time to calibrate even higher cleanliness standards that are aligned with the new needs of COVID-19. Incorporating best practices for sanitisation and hygiene, Outrigger’s Clean Commitment will be rolled out company-wide to offer additional peace of mind for our guests. We’re also moving forward with a number of revitalisation projects, including guest room transformations and significant enhancements to public spaces. Because one day this storm will pass – and no matter the distance – we’ll find our way back together… When the world is ready to travel again, we will be here to welcome you to our island home. #OutriggerCARES By Helping Villagers in Mauritius

Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort staff have been active in disadvantaged villages in the south of the island near the resort. The hotel is donating supplies to villagers with no work often living in rudimentary shacks in the villages of La Gaulette, Coteau Raffin, Case Noyale, and Le Morne. “Carl” the village chief of La Gaulette has been very proactive, not only delivering necessities with Outrigger but arranging medical tests and small payments for the elderly. The priority is to ensure at least one good meal a day for villagers. Cyrille Carmona, the GM of the Outrigger, and his staff have also been helping villagers who usually supply local goods and services to the hotel, such as housewives who make snacks or traditional Sega dance performers who have no work or income at the moment with tourism shut down. Visit this link to view our collection of Outrigger virtual backgrounds and download them to your computer. 2. At the start of your Zoom meeting, click the ^ arrow next to “Start/Stop Video”. 3. Choose a virtual background. 4. Click the + button and then click “Add image”. 5. Find the background image you’d like to use on your computer. Note: the Outrigger logo will appear backwards on your screen, but will show correctly to the other people on the Zoom video. Some computers may not be able to use virtual backgrounds.
