The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) is proud to support the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) in the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) launch of its unique online education platform, IAPCO WebEDGE.
This platform will support Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs) by providing globally accredited training, which is designed to enhance their professionalism and raise their capacity and capability to meet the current and future industry expectation, needs and demands.
Elaborating further on the collaboration, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani, shared, “I would like to congratulate IAPCO for their excellent initiative and as the Bureau mandated by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Malaysia, MyCEB is excited to be on board together with Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to contribute our expertise as well as other types of support where required. This reflects MyCEB’s responsibility and commitment to the local industry players in constantly working towards expanding the horizons of business events. I urge all industry champions to take up this opportunity provided by the WebEDGE platform and enrich your knowledge for the growth of our industry together.”
According to the Centre's General Manager, Alan Pryor, “We are always looking for opportunities and partners to collaborate with to enhance Malaysia’s business events supply chain. We are indeed delighted to have developed this new innovative partnership between MyCEB and IAPCO, and we believe this will be of great benefit, not only to the local event professionals, but also the global meetings industry, and we commend and congratulate MyCEB on this collaboration.
He continued, “Our strong and long-standing partnership with MyCEB has resulted in us working closely with them on many joint industry advocacy and engagement initiatives to upskill and develop the capacity of our national industry supply chain. This helped lay the foundation for this collaboration, which is the first of its kind in IAPCO’s 51-year history. We see WebEDGE as the perfect online platform to help elevate our young and developing event professionals, especially PCOs, to internationally recognised standards. It is timely as this is an online education platform available to everyone in the industry.”
“We are focused on being an enabler in supporting our industry supply chain to grow Malaysia’s profile and market share of business events. This in turn will generate a higher number of delegates and visitors, which will enhance the economic contribution, knowledge sharing opportunities and social impact business events can deliver to the country. We look forward to supporting MyCEB and IAPCO with the successful rollout of the WebEDGE platform,” concluded Pryor.
