AMSTERDAM and BANGKOK: ICCA and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) are joining hands to organise a series of educational webinars for the meetings community, starting Tuesday 26 May 2020. The two organisations announced today that the partnership will focus on education in response to the global COVID-19 crisis, with the objective to mitigate the disruption of activities.
ICCA, as the global meetings industry network, is aligning its strategic effort with TCEB to support the business community by means of continuing education and facilitating knowledge sharing. Both organisations will leverage each other’s resources to design customised webinars to meet the diverse needs within its membership, the Association Community, and government sectors.
The ICCA-TCEB Webinar Series will consist of 3 webinars and will be presented at no cost. Both organisations will bring together thought leaders from across the global network to discuss broad topics on the future of conventions and behaviour change, expectations in the new business ecosystem, and evolution of hybrid meetings. Each webinar will be developed and designed to address the needs of different market segments, with the first focusing on associations, followed by the second edition focussing on intermediaries, and the third edition on government. The Webinar Series are scheduled on 26 May, 2 June and 9 June, running consecutively every Tuesday for three weeks in a row and are open to the global meetings community interested in the topic.
Announcing the series, Mr. Senthil Gopinath, ICCA CEO said, “ICCA is committed to delivering cross-sectoral education for the continued development of global relationships. ICCA and TCEB are breaking barriers by providing a platform for shared experiences, best practices and empowering our community by providing access to education during this uncertain time. We are excited at the prospect of partnering with one of the industry leaders - TCEB, which itself has demonstrated its expertise in driving Thailand’s leadership and standards of excellence in the region’s events industry. The webinar series with TCEB is just one of many initiatives ICCA is engaged in that is specifically designed to help the global industry navigate the new normal post COVID-19.”
Mrs. Nichapa Yoswee, Thailand's Convention & Exhibition Bureau's Senior Vice President – Business commented, “Thailand continues to embrace the spirit of collaboration and we are thankful to be partnering with ICCA. The convention industry is renowned for engaging in long-term, progressive conversations. This opportunity is an example of our desire for keeping our industry’s legacy impact in action.”
The first webinar of the Series, scheduled to be held on 26 May, has garnered voluntary support of experts from around the world to deliver virtual learning for associations. Joining the speaker line-up will be Carola van der Hoeff (International Pharmaceutical Federation - FIP), Greta Kotler, CAE (ASAE & The Center), Richard Simcot (Polyglot Conference), and Chainarong Monthienvichienchai (Consultor of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications of the Holy See, Chair the organizing committee to bid for Serra International Convention 2023 & Chancellor of Saint John's University in Bangkok).
