The Karisma Hotels and Resorts recently organized the groundbreaking ceremony of its new prodigious property, the Sugarcane Bay Jamaica hotel in Jamaica. The estimated budget invested in the property is approximately $1 billion USD and is one of the biggest multi-hotel projects from the company.
The property is set on 226 acres of land in the Llandovery area in Jamaica’s “garden parish” of St Ann. The new hotel will have accommodation for approximately 4,700 rooms. According to hotel benchmarking firm STR, the project is an important step for Jamaica and its growing channel of brand new hotels. This property has the potential to be one of the largest in the wider Caribbean region. As reported by the Jamaican Tourism Ministry, the hotel also has the capability to create nearly 10,000 job opportunities in the region and attract nearly 375,000 guests in a year. The hotel is expected to generate revenue of $850 million per annum and contribute towards the island’s economic growth.
Armando Chomat, Top Sales Officer, Karisma said in a press brief that the dream of Sugarcane Bay is turning into a reality and the groundbreaking day has become the latest landmark for luxury travel in Jamaica.
Andrew Holness, Prime Minister, Jamaica put a final word on the statement saying that significant investments have been made in the tourism and hospitality industry which has successfully yielded significant results and generated success. He stated that investors are aware that investing in Jamaica is a profitable business. He also assured that investors can be certain that their investments are safe and secure in the strong economic policy in Jamaica.
