Florida cruise port is getting major transformation with new terminal, waterfront park, village, amphitheater, shops, restaurants, and more. The new port will also be able to handle up to eight cruise ships a day. Global Ports Holding signed a Heads of Agreement this past week for a $250 million transformation of the cruise port in Nassau.
The goal of Global Port Holding is to make a port in Nassau that people want to come to. Port Nassau will be a cruise destination unlike any other. Upon arriving, cruisers will enjoy a fantastic modern waterfront that will rival any cruise port in the Caribbean.
The Minister of Tourism in the Bahamas said that this project will create a sense of space and openness and eliminate the “harassing type environment” that many cruisers face when they stop in Nassau.
The port will feature open, upscale restaurants and large LED signs. It will have unique architectural features that will make Port Nassau iconic as a cruise estination.
At night, Port Nassau will transform with laser light shows, illuminated sculptures, and walkways.
