The 16-room Casa Pueblo Tulum is set in a Modernist concrete building whose décor includes unpolished wooden doors and handcrafted ceramics offers a lush oasis just meters from Tulum’s bustling downtown.
The hotel offers a cozy and friendly environment. In the morning guests wander downstairs for a coffee by the pool in their pajamas and slippers or hang out and play with the resident dogs. Locals and guests are oftentimes sharing meals or working; laptops, notebooks and coffees strewn about.

Travelers can only arrive by boat to boutique hotel Punta Caliza, which is situated on Isla Holbox – a car-free fishing village north of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The 12-room Punta Caliza is a family-run boutique hotel. Punta Caliza provides beach towels to use on its own small private patch of beach. They’ll also call golf carts and arrange tours to go birding, kayaking, see whale sharks.
The guest suites each boast their own plunge pool and have thatched roofs intended to mimic traditional Mayan structures. Rooms are all in sustainable red cedar wood, and have an airy A-shape, with vaulting ceiling. Fans and air-con are installed, as well as doors that open wide, one on to a private plunge pool. All rooms have two double beds, an area for hanging clothes, safe, robes and separate lavatory and shower room.
