Visit KC, a non-profit organization whose mission is to ignite global passion for Kansas City, has successfully renewed its accreditation through the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP)—an esteemed, international industry distinction reserved for hospitality organizations that are valued in their respective communities.
The reaccreditation, which was awarded last night during Destinations International’s 2019 Annual Convention in St. Louis, is valid from 2020 through 2024.
Founded in 1966, Visit KC is Kansas City’s leading hospitality and tourism organization, reaching local, national and global audiences. The not-for-profit joins more than 200 other peer organizations with DMAP designation, a process which requires that rigorous industry standards are met in 100-plus categories, including finance, human resources, visitor services, sales, marketing and communications.

“This distinction signals to our community that the work Visit KC does for the City and for the region is backed by an internationally recognized and respected certification,” said Visit KC President & CEO Jason Fulvi. “We’re proud to join the elite company of other highly esteemed destination management organizations.”
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I proudly commend the Visit KC team on this important achievement,” said CiCi Rojas, Chair of the Board. “The Destinations International accreditation reinforces Visit KC’s mission to advance the overall visitor experience in Kansas City to benefit our local economy and reaffirm KC as a great place to live, work and play. Together with our destination partners—and through the impact of travel and our shared community values—Visit KC strengthens Kansas City’s economic vitality and provides ample opportunity for the people of our region.”
