To boost business events in Seoul, the Seoul Convention Bureau has officially rolled out its 2019 PLUS SEOUL programs this month to offer customized experiences.
There will be an expanded core benefit of up to KRW 250,000,000 (this was earlier KRW 150,000,000) for international conferences and up to KRW 200,000,000 for corporate/incentive groups (this was earlier KRW 100,000,000).
Through corporate meetings and incentives those seeking to boost loyalty and brand exposure can opt from several complimentary options.
Depending on the size of the event, planners can go for customized cookies with corporate logos, storytelling performances, bus wrapping, photo mosaic walls, K-beauty booths and video services to capture the participants’ experiences.
PLUS SEOUL will help in covering development costs for event apps and VR experiences for international congresses having more than 1,000 participants. Among the core benefit offerings will be welcome messages at Incheon International Airport and large conventions can go for customized experiences like the unique venue benefits, Seoul MICE Cards, special tour programs meant for exploring the city and Seoul experience booths on-site at events. At the booths attendees can try on Korean traditional clothing and get travel recommendations.
In the rebranded PLUS SEOUL program there is an updated Seoul welcome kit for the MICE participants. There is a pair of reusable chopsticks in the Korean traditional lucky pouch to relish the Korean cuisines like locals and cutting down the use of disposable ones.
Recipients can engage themselves in the social media event, upload their photos using the chopsticks with the hashtags #MICESEOUL, #PLUSSEOUL, and #CHOPSTICKSMYWAY.
Jihyun Kim, the new director of the MICE Planning Team at the Seoul Convention Bureau stated that they designed the PLUS SEOUL keeping in mind what can Seoul add to business events, whether there will be intellectual exchange, company loyalty, just fun or they want to give meetings an extra boost.
In 2016 and 2017, Seoul took the 10th spot in the ICCA city rankings, for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017 it took the 3rd position in the UIA city rankings.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has shown significant interest in securing business events with a strong commitment to make Seoul a top MICE city.
The city will be attracting even more international conventions and corporate events through robust city support, creative offerings from the Seoul Convention Bureau and benefits from Seoul MICE Alliance (SMA) – which consists of more than 300 city-approved local partners.
Kim went on saying the they will be adding more benefits from SMA throughout the years and increase the value of holding business events in Seoul.
