UKinbound has published its recent Business Barometer Figures, which highlights the confidence levels all over tourism industry are on the rise.

The research collected by Qa Research found that around 59% of UKinbound members explained that they were confident in terms of business in the forthcoming 12 months. Since October 2017, this was the top recorded rate.

The increase in confidence happened as a result of an influx in forward bookings, the value of the pound, and raised interest from North American and Asian markets.

Also, business signaled that the number one activity they’re anticipating to be in tremendous demand from inbound tourists are cultural experiences, followed by ‘bespoke activities’.

Nevertheless, businesses also mentioned that the industry encounters several problems in the forthcoming months, particularly the uncertainty looming around Brexit.

Staff recruitment and retention, improving product offering and offers for visitors in the UK, luring visitors from new markets, and currency fluctuations were also highlighted as general concerns.

An assessment of 2018 found few interesting statistics:

  • All through 2018, China and the US remained the two top growth markets.
  • Less than a third (28%) of members think that over-tourism has a negatively affected their business.
  • For many members, a key challenge continued to be the reduction of available EU workers.
