One of the Sultanate's most historical sites is now to be managed by a local Omani





It was  announced by the Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN), the executive arm for the development of tourism sector the hand over ofmanagemnt of Harat Al Bilad heritage site in Wilyat Manah.

The operations of the historic landmark will be run by the Omani firm, Reconstruction of Traditional Architecture. It will be supporting the growth of domestic and international tourism in the sultanate.

Oman’s most popular and oldest historical site dates back to the 5th Islamic century and is preserved by several generations.

During an official tour to Harat Al Bilad the handover ceremony was held by Peter Walichnowski, CEO of OMRAN and executives from both companies.

He mentioned that historical monuments around the world have an unforgettable experience in tourist’s mind and the structure is undoubtedly one of Oman’s perfect jewels that capture the attention of heritage tourism enthusiasts.

The rich historical site’s rejuvenation will  help in improving the domestic tourism and attract more tourists from across the globe.

He was determined to continue investing in community development and give opportunities to the local private sector.

Two local companies has been appointed by OMRAN to manage the operations of Al Hoota Cave and Nizwa Fort after being transferred to the company by the government.

Dr Haitham Najeem Sulaiman Al Abri, managing director of Reconstruction of Traditional Architecture was delighted to be appointed as the official operator of Harat Al-Bilad, which was recently renovated by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.

He said that they will work closely with OMRAM to add a new touristic essence to this historic monument in Wilayat Manah in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

Guided tours to the visitors has already started and they were looking forward to upgrade the facilities and services and officially open in the coming months.
