The travel and tourism sector is ready for disruption in every phase of the visitor experience, be it arranging plans to  getting to new destinations with the local flavor.

Donovan White, Jamaica director of tourism said that the key drivers of digital transformation are profitability, visitor satisfaction and tourism success. They wanted to ensure that as a destination they wanted to ensure that the visitors  will have a memorable experience through their journey starting from the dream phase to the advocacy phase.

All the activities of the island will be highlighted in the VisitJamaica.com portal.

Augmented reality, artificial intelligence to analyse customer searches and tailor results, biometrics, flight notifications and boarding passes etc will be the features of the new portal.

Island-wide Wi-Fi connectivity is now available for visitors where they can share experiences through real time.

There is significant advancements in technology which is the island’s important mechanism of growth. There is also more emphasis on the meaningful human interactions that has the potential of bringing visitors back.

A balance between the technological innovations and human element is essential and working on the visitor experience is always on the forefront while making investments in technology but it should be in alignment with human connection.
