Delta and its joint venture partners have made travel more seamless for customers checking in at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, following Air France and Korean Air’s recent relocation into Delta’s check-in facilities at Sea-Tac. Delta now shares colocated check-in space with all of its joint venture partners operating at Sea-Tac, including Aeromexico, Air France, Korean Air and Virgin Atlantic.

Delta works closely with its joint venture partners to deliver on its commitment to a better customer experience. One of the benefits of colocated check-in is improved handling of irregular operations, meaning the airlines can work closely to rebook passengers in the event of delays or cancellations. Delta already operates alongside its joint venture partners on the secure, south side of the airport at Sea-Tac.

“Collocation allows Delta and its partners to work even more closely together for the benefit of our shared customers, and that is a top priority for Delta in Seattle,” said Tony Gonchar, Delta’s Vice President – Seattle. “This type of collaboration is what differentiates our joint ventures from codeshare partnerships. With Air France and Korean Air joining Aeromexico and Virgin Atlantic in sharing Delta’s check-in space, our employees can better team up to provide our customers with a seamless travel experience.”

The check-in collocations follows Delta Cargo and Air France-KLM Cargo’s collocation of cargo warehouse facilities in Seattle in March 2018, a move that allows more space for cargo capacity and makes shipping easier and more convenient for the airlines’ shared customers. Delta Cargo’s Seattle warehouse has hosted Virgin Atlantic since March 2017.

Delta and its partners Aeromexico, Air France-KLM, Korean Air and Virgin Atlantic serve 15 international destinations from Seattle, including Amsterdam, Beijing, London-Heathrow, Paris, Seoul-Incheon, Shanghai, Tokyo-Narita, and eight destinations in Canada and Mexico. Delta will add Seattle-Osaka service in April 2019 in partnership with Korean Air.

Air France-KLM and Delta are longstanding joint venture partners, and Air France began direct Seattle-Paris service in March to complement Delta’s existing service.

Delta and Korean Air’s joint venture launched May 1, 2018, and has expanded the airlines’ joint operation on trans-Pacific routes, improving customer service, enhancing loyalty program benefits and aligning sales and marketing activities. In Seattle, Delta and Korean Air now operate two daily codeshare flights, offering customers more flight options. Seattle to Seoul-Incheon flights offer round-trip connections from Incheon Airport to over 30 cities in Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Nagoya and Bangkok.

Delta is Seattle’s largest global airline with 150 peak-day departures to 51 destinations in November. The airline continues to grow its presence in the market and this summer offered 10 percent more peak-day seats, driven by the addition of three new domestic destinations – Indianapolis, Kansas City and Washington-Dulles – as well as more flights and larger aircraft operating existing routes.
