The tourism industry of Victoria has grown by $2 billion in recent years along with the employment generation in the travel and tourism industry.
This southeastern state of Australia has many tourism opportunities. The tourism also represents almost seven per cent of the state’s total employment.
The interstate and overseas visitors injected $24.8 billion into the economy of Australia in the 2012017 financial years, which is up $2 billion since 2015-2016.
The Victorian tourism employs 214,000 people, with the booming sector adding 15,000 jobs in one year.
The acting Minister for Tourism and Major Events Tim Pallas hailed the latest Tourism Research Australia results, which show more than 15,000 tourism-related jobs have been created since 2015-2016.
The tourism sector in Victoria has generated around 214,500 jobs last financial year. It is up by 7.6 per cent from the previous year – and now makes up almost seven per cent of the state’s total employment.

These impressive results come off the back of the Labor Government has delivered more than 100 events across regional Victoria and rolling out major new tourism campaigns such as “Wander Victoria” and A Twist At Every Turn.
