Tourists will be spending $27.1b to $27.6b in 2018 as forecasted by the Singapore Tourism Board with a 1-3% improvement from 2017.
It is expected that Singapore will be welcoming 17.1 million visitors.
The board stated with the global economic outlook looking favourable and Asia-Pacific tourism poised to expand, STB is generally optimistic about tourism prospects for the year ahead.
Around 17.6 million to 18.1 million international visitor arrivals is expected showing a 1-4% improvement from last year.
Geopolitical tensions might affect consumer travel sentiments and intensifying regional competition STB cited.
The marketing efforts will be boosted by the board and industry competitiveness to stay on course for “quality tourism growth.”
