Ontario, the Canadian province proposes to allow the people to consume marijuana in hotel rooms which opens for the influx of cannabis tourism.
The lawyer Matt Mauer heads the cannabis law group at Minden Gross in Toronto, and says he knows business people who are interested in opening cannabis-friendly hotels and resorts.
Matt Mauer says he was surprised by the province’s proposal to release up the ban on consuming cannabis anywhere other than private homes.
The government of Canada has also asked for public comments on whether to allow cannabis lounges.
Matt Mauer said that he assumed that the provincial government of Canada would eventually consider exemptions to the cannabis act passed in December. This enact of law bans consumption in public places.
According to Matt Mauer , it is a proposal where the tourists could come to Ontario, go to the government-owned retail store, pick up the cannabis and head out to the hotel room. The user can also devour there and head out to where ever they want.
The provincial regulations unveiled in the last month propose that the cannabis could be consumed by residents and their guests at rooms in hotels, motels and inns, as long as the drug is not smoked or vaped. The smoking and vaping marijuana would be allowed in designated smoking rooms.
The regulations have been posted for public comment. The government of Canada plans to put them into effect when recreational marijuana is legalized across the country, expected in July.
