The international hospitality company Marriott International has mentioned today that it has signed a five-hotel conversion deal with SAMHI Hotels for its FairfieldBSE that accounts for 0.23% by Marriott brand in the nation.

This brand also hopes to add 583 brand new rooms to its existent portfolio as per a fresh release issued here.

The additions would include destinations like Chennai, Goa, Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi.

Paul Foskey, the chief development officer in Asia-Pacific mentioned in the statement that SAMHI hotels is among their longstanding partners in India. And with the conversion of these five hotels to Fairfield by Marriott, SAMHI Hotels would currently have 14 hotels that are managed by Marriott International across a range of their brands in India.

The Fairfield by Marriott brand has presently has nine hotels that are open across the nation and one in Nepal.

And, besides these 10 operational Fairfield Hotels in South Asia there are additional 13 that are about to be constructed. And they comprise five conversions with SAMHI taking the count to 23 Fairfield by Marriott hotels in these regions according to Foskey.

SAMHI Hotels managing director and CEO Ashish Jakhanwala mentioned that their observation and research has indicated that the Indian market is actually a cost-effective one. And he went on to say that it has a good affinity for midscale brands but it foresees immense potential in the following years.
The Indian tourism industry has been witnessing a rising number of travellers are seeking upper-midscale hotels.
In turn, Marriott International has aggressively expanded its Fairfield by Marriott brand across the region.
