Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo or INGUAT, the Guatemalan Tourism Board has recently partnered with Global Sustainable Tourism Council or GSTC as a national member.
INGUAT’s main aim is to fortify and expand tourism products and services, as per the land use planning of tourism areas in Guatemala. Besides, INGUAT also promotes the execution of quality and sustainable criteria with the help of certification systems Sello Q and Sello Q Verde that was developed within the Master Plan of Sustainable Tourism, Guatemala 2015-2025.
“INGUAT has manifested its commitment to sustainable tourism,” said Jorge Mario Chajón, director, INGUAT. “Being a part of GSTC’s global network, our institution is playing a critical role in advancing the mission of promoting sustainable tourism practices around the world, and helping to protect the natural and cultural resources of the country for sustainable development.”
