The news of British Airways appointing Louise Evans for top communications role comes after the airline’s two longstanding PR staff, communications director, Paul Marston and head of international communications named Amanda Poole left the company.
Evans is expected to report directly to Alex Cruz who is the chief executive and chairman of the airlines.
However, unlike Marston she would not operate internal communications that has now been shifted under HR and legal. Cruz feels that Louise has a remarkable track record and a good deal of experience and dexterity in all aspects of communications.
He then went on to add that she would make for quite a resourceful addition to the management team and that he is keen to work with her as that would go a long way in helping them deliver world-class communications.
Evans was made redundant from Sainsbury in July 2017 amid a major restructure by the supermarket.
And he was previously global director of communications and marketing at Dentsu Aegis Network and before that, director of corporate communications at ITV Plc.
