About Bollywood
The name "Bollywood" is a portmanteau derived from Bombay and Hollywood, referring to the Indian commercial cinema. Bollywood dance is a mix of traditional Indian dances, such as Kathak, Bharata Natyam and Odissi, combining elements of traditional eastern dances with salsa, flamenco, jazz, hip-hop, modern dance and musical. It's a rather energetic dance, full of positive energy, with theatrical and storytelling elements.
