The port of Adelaide is currently home to royalty thanks to the Golden Princess cruise ship show that was permanently based at Outer Harbor.

This luxury liner of the Princess Cruises is able to carry 3700 guests as well as crew members and is the largest cruise vessel to ever home port outside of Adelaide.

It would be injecting a good amount of money into the state’s economy in its 2018 season and this is inclusive of SA’s first international round trip voyage from Adelaide to New Zealand.

After the 17-night New Zealand trip that had left on Monday, the 290-metre-long ship would be returning to Port Adelaide and would then be carrying passengers to Port Lincoln and Kangaroo Island.

It would again be returning in late March to Adelaide and Port Lincoln.

Phil Hoffman who is a tourism expert mentioned that the businesses of Port Adelaide were in a prime position on the rising number of cruise guests.

Rodney Harrex who is a South Australian Tourism Commission chief executive mentioned that the cruise sector has ended up contributing almost $100 million to the economy of South Australia last year. He went on to state that the figure would be higher in 2018 since 160,000 passengers and 67 cruise vessels would be calling in to Port Adelaide.

Aldo Traverso who is a captain of Golden Princess feels that it is wonderful to sail into the Port on Monday and it is his first visit to Adelaide.
