The domestic air traffic of India has witnessed double digit growth for the 38th straight month in October at a rate double that of China as mentioned by the International Air Transport Association on Monday.
In its report it confirmed that India has been leading the domestic growth chart once more and the year-on-year growth in this region has risen to a ten-month high of as much as 20.4% in October and it is its 38th month in double-digit territory.
The domestic air traffic in China has increased by 10%, Brazil 7.7%, Russia 6.1%, the US 5.3%, Australia 2.8% and Japan 2.3%.
It added that the domestic sector of Brazil has ascended by 7.7% year-on-year in October that represented a 27-month high as the economy gradually continues to recover from the deep recession of recent years.
The domestic traffic of Russia had risen by 6.1% in October that was the slowest pace in a year.
Internationally the passenger traffic demand increased by 7.2% as compared to the same month last year while the capacity rise by 6.2% and load factor climbed by 0.8% points to 80.8%.
Alexandre de Juniac who is the director general and chief executive of IATA mentioned in a report that the recent severe weather in the region of the Americas had just a temporary impact on the healthy travel demand that they had noticed this year this trend.
He also stated that the demand for air travel continues to be strong as they were progressing into the holiday travel season.
IATA had said in October that it is well on its way to becoming the third largest aviation market by the year 2025 surpassing the United Kingdom. And China is going to be the leading market followed closely by the US.
The current passenger traffic of India is nearly 141 million.
