Aeroflot announces the results of its Electronic Trading Platform (ETP), the company’s digital procurement system, for the first nine months of 2017. During the period 97.11% of tenders were processed through the digital platform.
Every month Aeroflot places hundreds of tenders on the ETP. Between January and September 2017 the Company processed more than 1,100 open requests for bids and 4,300 requests for bids with limited participation for those who qualified at preliminary stages. Тhe catalogue of procurement items includes 20 categories – from stationary to technical equipment for aircraft repair and maintenance.
The number of Aeroflot contractors using the platform confirms its effectiveness. As of 1 October 2017, approximately 5,300 contractors had been active on the platform. On average each tender receives 3-4 bids.
The use of the ETP led to an increase in the number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) participating in tenders. As of the end of 2016, the share of procured goods or services coming from SMEs reached 65%, whilst the Company’s minimum requirement is 18%. Aeroflot works closely with JSC Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME Corporation). Aeroflot’s website and ETP contain information regarding projects for SMEs to enhance bilateral cooperation. In Summer 2017 Aeroflot was for the first time officially recognised by the SME Corporation for supporting small and medium-sized businesses in its procurement.
