“Fly
me to the Moon” program continues on Friday the 13th of October, with Monika! Following its very successful
"flights" for the fifth consecutive year, “Fly me to the Moon” welcomes
Monika Christodoulou, one of the most
popular young Greek singers - songwriters. With live concerts in the most
prestigious Greek venues, such as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Little
Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, international collaborations with important
personalities of the music industry and many performances overseas, Monika comes
for the first time at the Athens
International Airport for an unforgettable
live show.
Since
her first appearance in the english speaking indie music scene of her
hometown, she became the ultimate
breakthrough in Greece with her debut album "Avatar" (2008), as well as with the following one, "Exit" (2010). In 2014 she released
a third album, titled “Secret in the
Dark”, recorded exclusively in New York, followed by a big tour in both
sides of the Atlantic. Fast forward to the summer of 2017, when Monika was the main
headliner of the infamous “Summer Nostos Festival” of Stavros Niarchos
Foundation and presented her first greek song, "Stala".
Right before crossing the Atlantic once again, she has
saved herself and her close fans a very
special located gig. On Friday the
13th of October, Monika and her band will perform a very familiar location,
considering her life between travelling the last 3 years. Monika will give a
live show at the Athens International
Airport, performing songs from her three hit albums, as well as brand new
ones, waving goodbye to her beloved
Greek audience for a while.
