Ει βούλει καλώς ακούειν, μάθε καλώς λέγειν, μαθών δε καλώς λέγειν, πειρώ καλώς πράττειν, και ούτω καρπώση το καλώς ακούειν. (Επίκτητος)

An epic railway route measuring 8,400 mile is proposed to be constructed soon that would link London and Tokyo in a massive project by the Russian government.

The officials of Vladimir Putin are currently interacting with Japan, discussing mainly about the development of a 28-mile bridge facilitating trains to cross the sea.

Once mooted by Stalin, the blueprint for the project would observe passengers travelling on a remarkable journey beginning in the capital of England prior to crossing the Channel into Europe. The trains would be running through Germany and Poland before they enter Eastern Europe and into Russia.

Passengers would be able to marvel at the snow-capped mountains in Siberia before they discover the deserted countryside of Russia for the major part of the trip.

In its final stretch, it has been proposed that the transits would travel over the Sea of Japan over a purpose-built 28-mile long bridge. Igor Shuvalov who is the vice premier of Russia said that they have been offering their Japanese partners to consider construction of a mixed road and railway passage from Hokkaido to the southern part of Sakhalin.

The proposed link to Japan has been elaborated as a ‘bridge across history’ since Tokyo and Moscow have not been able to sign a treaty formally, ending the hostilities of the Second World War.

Shuvalov said that Japan is going to be a ‘continental state’ if the rail links are realized.

Sergei Ivanov who is one of the environmental gurus of Putin said that a link to oil and gas-rich Sakhalin – half of which was controlled by Tokyo prior to the Second World War was a dream since a long time and that even Stalin had been planning to do it.

The scheme had been unveiled at the Eastern Economic Forum that was hosted in Vladivostok by Putin.
