Puducherry is planning to experience the tourists surge and the Central Government grants 107 crore of rupees to promote the tourism, heritage and the spirituality. The Chief Minister of Puducherry V.Narayanasamy is very elated with this grant and the development of tourism in Puducherry would be on a par with Goa.
Puducherry is a Union Territory of India with Karaikal District, Yanam District and Mahe District. Puducherry is enclosed by the states like Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
Under Swadesh Darshan scheme, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has sanctioned 66.34 crore rupees for the Heritage Tourism Circuit and 40.68 crore rupees for Spiritual Tourism Circuit. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has also sanctioned a total amount of 107.02 crore rupees and has released 21.40 crore rupees as first installment. Puducherry will also give stress on building the new bio-toilets to make the city clean and hygienic.
Now, The Union Territory Government of Puducherry is planning to develop the different governmental houses, heritage monuments of French origin, city beaches and the eco tourism areas to attract more national and international tourists. The Government of Puducherry is now taking a part with the Goa Tourism.
Puducherry received this grant which is comparable more high than the other states of India like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. The Union Government of Puducherry is thankful to the Central Government for this allocation.
With this allocation, The Government of Puducherry is planning for the beautification and extension of beach promenade in southern and northern side, streetscapes in the French and Dutch Heritage Area, Art and Cultural Complex at Old Distillery premises in Puducherry, Sri Kokilambal Thirukameswarar Temple, Gangai Varaga Natheeswarar Temple, Spritual Park at Thirunallar, Karaikal, Auroville; Sacred Pond at Thirunallar, Karaikal, Sri Badra Kali Amman Temple, Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Yanam, Ghats of Godavari River near Mahe, St. Vinorpu Annai Church and the Yanam Church.
