Wizz Air to commence operations to Pulkovo Saint Petersburg Airport

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, will commence scheduled service from Budapest (Hungary) to Saint Petersburg (Russia) starting 27 August 2017. The flights will be operated to Pulkovo airport twice a week on Airbus A320 aircraft.
From the 27th of August until the 25th of October, the airplanes will take off from the Northern capital of Russia to the capital of Hungary on Sundays and Wednesdays, then, starting from the 31st of October onwards, the schedule will shift to Tuesdays and Saturdays.
“Wizz Air coming to Pulkovo is much awaited both for the airport and for the city of St. Peterburg. It will the first foreing fully low-cost carrier to operate at Pulkovo. One of the most beautiful cities in Europe competing with St. Petersburg in the number of visiting tourists, Budapest is a strategic and greatly desired destination among those with yet no scheduled service from St. Petersburg. We are certain that the high-quality and attractive product offered by Wizz Air will be in demand among tourists as well as business travelers from both sides”, noted Evgeniy Iliyn, chief commercial officer of Northern Capital Gateway LLC, managing company of Pulkovo Airport.

The route will provide St. Petersburg with a convenient direct low-cost access to the EU, offering a total of 63 destinations for onward low fare travel from Budapest with 4 million seats in 2017.
