Sealed Air has received the Diamond Finalist Award for its Cryovac® OptiDure™ Abuse Bag in the 29th DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation.
Globally recognized as the leading packaging awards program, the DuPont Award honors innovations in packaging design, materials, technologies and processes across the entire packaging value chain. Award winners are determined by their packaging excellence in three categories: technological advancement, responsible packaging and enhanced user experience. The OptiDure Abuse Bag demonstrated excellence in all three categories.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award and proud to see our OptiDure Abuse Bags helping food processors increase food safety and operational efficiency through leading edge abuse resistance and pack security,” said Ram Ramesh, Vice President of Food Care Research & Development at Sealed Air.
The award-winning Opti Dure Abuse Bags represent a significant breakthrough in vacuum packaging that reduces leak rates, helping facilitate faster throughput, increased production efficiency, and reduced product and package waste. It is estimated that a one percent reduction in leak rates could eliminate $140 million in food waste globally. Additionally, by using 25 percent less material, OptiDure Abuse Bags reduce global warming potential and cumulative energy demand by 30 percent when compared to standard vacuum bags.
