The town of  Kampung Pelangi located in the region of Randusari in Indonesia is attracting a large number of tourists thanks to a beautiful makeover.

The town was originally known as Kampung Wonosari.

It has as many as 223 houses that are brightly painted in myriad hues of three bright shades and adorned with lovely murals. A similar special color treatment has beautified the local structures of the town like its bridges.

These colors have been provided owing to a funding from the government.

And, it is indeed quite effectual. Even Instagram is filled with pictures of tourists assembled in front of colorful structures, murals and buildings of Kampung Pelangi.

Semarang’s Indonesian Builders Association had offered paint and also a few workers for this project and this has been completed last month.

Currently, the regional inhabitants of this unique town are leveraging the sudden and increased interest in their brightly coloured, beautiful town to boost their local tourism sector, and also by selling souvenirs and food to tourists. It is expected that the project would be extending to several houses.

It also includes some significant projects like cleaning the local river and clearing it.
