KLM Returns to London City Airport for the first time in almost 8 years
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and London City Airport launched a new route between London City and Amsterdam, with the inaugural flight landing at 07:20 this morning.
The first flight from Airport Amsterdam Schiphol received a festive welcome at London City Airport with the aircraft flying Dutch and UK colours as it taxied to the arrival gate.
On board were Boet Krieken, Managing Director, KLM Cityhopper and Warner Rootliep, General Manager Air France-KLM Great Britain & Ireland.
“We’re delighted to be back in the heart of London city. The new KLM service will offer our passengers a seamless and efficient service from Central London, not only to Amsterdam, but also to exciting worldwide destinations such as New York, Dubai and Hong Kong. We know how important connectivity is to both our corporate clients and our leisure customers and we are confident that this new service will be another KLM success story.” said Warner Rootliep.
Declan Collier, CEO of London City Airport met the delegation, officially welcoming the carrier back to London City after a gap of almost 8 years.
WestJet's forecast for 2017 Rewarding
WestJet launched its enhanced and energized WestJet Rewards program which offers a simplified user experience and the ability to earn more rewards, faster.

Updated program highlights effective today:
- WestJet flights and vacation packages earn rates tied to tier status at time of flight date.
- Teal members earn one per cent back on flights flown and 0.5 per cent back on vacation packages.
- Silver members earn three per cent back on flights flown and one per cent back on vacation packages.
- Gold members earn five per cent back on flights flown and one per cent back on vacation packages.
- A simplified structure for Teal, with one set of earn rates on flights and vacation packages.
- A reduced spend to reach the Silver tier – $1,000 less than the previous requirement.
- A new priority support phone number, available to Gold members exclusively through the WestJet app.
- Milestone awards continue to be tied to qualifying flight spend in any given qualifying year.
