Hop on an informative and enjoyable tour through wine, culture and history by paying a visit to the recently opened VINEUM Lake Constance, formerly the Wine-Growing Museum in Meersburg.
The recently opened VINEUM is the new museum about wine-growing and wine culture in the Lake Constance region, where wine-growing tradition dating back to the 14th century is brought to life in an interesting and interactive way. The building of the former Hospital of the Holy Spirit has been used as a monument to the ancient craft of viticulture around Lake Constance since 1961.
A highlight is the media console with a virtual ‘Wishing Table’ from the Brothers Grimm fairytale. It provides a continually changing virtual drinks table with matching ‘table talk’.
In September and October the vintner associations and winegrowing estates around Lake Constance invite you to taste their Baden wines, which benefit from the heat stored by Lake Constance and the sunny vineyard slopes. Besides the wine festival in Birnau, the Meersburg wine festival with its richly varied program and regional delicacies is not to be missed.
