Readers’ Choice survey finding Queensland, Fiji and Bali are their favourite resort destinations.Fourteen out of the 20 favourite resorts  for families in Australia are in Queensland, headed by Sea World Resort and Water Park on the Gold Coast as the number one resort over four stars and Paradise Resort, also on the Gold Coast, the favourite resort in the four stars and under category.

Meanwhile, there were so many votes for Fijian resorts this year that Holidays with Kids magazine split results into two categories for the first time – over four stars and four stars and under, with Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort winning the former category and Plantation Island Resort heading the latter. A record number of votes were also submitted for Bali resorts this year, with the Westin Resort Nusa Dua the number one favourite.

As Australia’s highest circulating family travel magazine, with a reach of 600,000, Holidays with Kids magazine polled its 65,000-strong database and ran an online survey to find readers’ favourite resorts in Australia and overseas, with the winners of the 2016 Readers’ Choice Top 10 Awards for resorts announced in the latest spring 2016 edition of the popular title, out now.

Each resort was judged by readers on various factors including facilities and activities for kids, quality of accommodation, standards of service and hospitality, value for money, and overall experience.

“Our survey showed Australian families are still in love with sun, sand and surf but, increasingly, they are travelling to Fiji, just a few hours away, and also Bali for a more exotic resort holiday,” said Holidays with Kids editor in chief, Cathy Wagstaff. “This year we also noticed in our annual survey that readers are travelling further afield than ever before as lower airfares and bargain packages entice them abroad,” Ms Wagstaff said.
