The China Tourism Academy has stated that the Chinese travellers would soon be filling the Asian as well as foreign countries for a weeklong vacation that commences from today onwards. The weeklong holiday, that is termed as the ‘Golden Week’ would be celebrated to mark the rise of the Communist Party to power.
During this period of time, about 589 million Chinese tourists are predicted to travel during this time.
The number of Chinese tourists who are expected to travel constitutes about half of the Chinese populace, Moreover, it marks an increase of about 12% as compared to last year. It has also been predicted that they would be spending about $70 billion during their travels that marks a rise of about 13.5% over last year.
According to the Chinese tourists, some of the tourist locales that they feel are leading domestic attractions include the ancient city of Lijiang that is towards the south and the Forbidden City in Beijing. Apart from that, they also feel that the Shanghai Disneyland would lure the maximum number of domestic tourists.
However, several Chinese tourists also make it a point to travel overseas.
In 2015, about 4 million Chinese travelled overseas during the holiday season. This year, an increased number of Chinese travellers are expected to travel. An online travel site also said that Thailand, Bangkok, Phuket, South Korea and Seoul are among the leading destinations for Chinese.
The National Tourism Administration specified that the number of Chinese travellers to overseas in the initial half of the year hit 59 million.
Last week, Marriott started providing customer service programs for Chinese tourists that include Chinese tour guides, Chinese speaking hotel assistants and much more.
